FIJI PRISON REFS
Fiji is full of passionate rugby players, but has a shortage of qualified rugby referees. Its prisons are full of men with precious little education or life skills to help them go straight when they get out of jail. Nasinu Prison just outside Suva is the home of a remarkable scheme that addresses both those problems. The inmates are being trained up as referees, and some are already allowed out of jail at weekends to officiate in matches. We visit Nasinu Prison to find out more about a unique story.
