As the year draws to a close, we take a look back at some of the highlights from the world of the International Rugby Board’s social media.
2010 has been a groundbreaking year for the International Rugby Board’s world of social media across three main platforms, resulting in a successful foundation for RWC 2011 being layed.
Facebook, YouTube and Twitter have all played important roles in the promotion of the Game and its tournaments, and has provided a platform for fans of all ages to become involved with and learn more about Rugby.
With more than 800,000 on the four Facebook pages and over 3,000,000 video views on YouTube, fans from around the world have shown the importance of social media and the IRB responded with a series of groundbreaking initiatives and a widening of the Rugby community.
The first ever IRB App was launched in November, on the Laws of the Game, an 'IRB Fan Forum: Your View' article is published every Thursday, whilst ANZ Pacific Nations Cup matches were shown live on irb.com for the first time adding to the video section now offered.
Fanzone sections on irbsevens.com and rwcwomens.com offered fans a different way of being involved with tournaments and voice their opinions, and IRB CEO/Secretary General Mike Miller also launched his Twitter account in October and 2011 will see a continued development of social media ahead of RWC 2011.
2010 has seen an unprecedented growth on the four Facebook pages - Rugby World Cup, HSBC Sevens World Series, Women's RWC and Total Rugby - with the number of fans, both men and women, almost doubling and countries including Belgium, Georgia, Taiwan and Mexico all now providing fans.

On a weekly basis the 800,000 plus fans are provided with a variety of news, videos, photos, polls, trivia, discussions and updates during tournaments.
One of the most popular posts this year was on the HSBC Sevens World Series Facebook page, which allowed you to have your questions answered by 'Heroes' from the circuit - something that will continue in 2011.
The all time leading points scorer Ben Gollings answered your questions in Dubai, before New Zealand captain DJ Forbes did the same in South Africa and 2011 will begin with the Samoa answering your questions in Wellington, New Zealand.
In 2011 the Women's RWC Facebook page will continue to help the development of women's Game after a successful 2010 campaign and once the 2014 host has been announced will begin building towards the next tournament.
All eyes, however, will be on the RWC Facebook page with next year's tournament taking centre stage and an estimated 1,500,000 fans interacting with the tournament.
Social media will play an integral part in next year's tournament in New Zealand and although there have been several new initiatives this year, the official RWC and IRB YouTube channels have continued to play an important role in the promotion of the Game and its tournaments.

In 2010 videos from Women's RWC, the HSBC Sevens World Series, Junior World Championship and Total Rugby have been uploaded to the IRB channel including the most viewed video from 2010, with 53,736 views currently.
In addition the 18 shortlisted tries for the IRPA Try of the Year 2010 were uploaded to the IRB YouTube channel, offering viewers an opportunity to see them all again before voting for their favorite at email@example.com.
Archive footage and preview videos are also uploaded to the RWC channel and certain videos were created following polls on the official RWC Facebook page, including a series of try compilations.

In addition to Miller's account, there are three further IRB Twitter accounts - Rugby World Cup, Women's RWC and Total Rugby - offering a different insight into the Game and its tournaments.
The 2010 Women's RWC was the first tournament to have its very own Twitter account providing links to the latest news, interacting with players and fans, and running a competition offering two tickets to the final.
Zoe Hynes received two tickets to the match between New Zealand and England at The Twickenham Stoop after successfully predicting the four pool winners and there were also five people who won a copy of the IRB World Rugby Yearbook 2010 via the official RWC Twitter account.
2010 proved successful for the IRB's world of social media and 2011 will continue to develop ahead of next year's RWC. Stay tuned and have your say....
