 Tunisia women underline Sevens superiority
Burkina Faso hosted six other nations from the North African region in Ouagadougou

Tunisia's women followed the example set by their high-performing men's team to easily win the CAR Women's Sevens development tournament held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso on 28-29 May.

The Tunisians saw off Ivory Coast (40-0), Burkina Faso B (37-0) and Burkina Faso A (41-0) in pool play on day one and then proved far too strong for both Morocco (43-0) and Senegal (50-0) to take the title without conceding a single point.

Senegal's route to the final was far tougher, drawing with Ghana 5-5 and grinding out tough wins against Morocco (10-7) and hosts Burkina Faso (7-0), but they had no answer to the more polished Tunisians in the final.

"Tunisia were a step ahead of all of their competition here and very much deserved to win the title," said IRB Regional Development Manager for Northern Africa, Jean-Luc Barthes.

"Beyond the Tunisians' outstanding display, though, it was hugely encouraging to see such a strong field representing the region and participating in what will be an Olympic Sport from 2016."
