Kenya clinch Elgon Cup but fall in IRB Rankings
Lower down the rankings, Uganda were the week's biggest climbers as a result of their 18-13 win against Kenya.
The Cranes' win was still not enough to overcome the nine-point deficit they needed to make up to win this year's Elgon Cup trophy, but it did move them back up two places to 41st in the rankings.
Kenya clinched the regional trophy for the third time in a row, but the loss in Kampala meant that they fell three places from 39th to 42nd in the world list.
Lock Scot Oluoch and flanker Robert Seguya scored a try apiece for the Kenyans, but it was Sevens star Collins Injera who again proved the difference with two tries.
"I think we deserved to win the Cup whole because we were the better team over the two legs," said Kenya coach Mike Otieno.
Kenya's women, carrying a 38-5 lead from the first leg, completed the double despite also losing their return match in Kampala 12-0.
